2017 Fall Foliage Trip: Sky Meadows State Park, Lunch, and Tours at The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
As in years past, we will see the glorious Virginia fall colors by traveling west into the Shenandoah Valley. On this year’s trip, we are changing it up a bit by venturing into Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane. We will enjoy beautiful vistas from the historic area with, hopefully, a ranger talk about the history of this park.
We then travel further west for a delightful buffet lunch at the historic Hotel Strasburg. Next stop is The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester. This small gem of a museum has exhibits about the history of the Shenandoah Valley and fine artwork. The historic Glen Burnie House, on the museum’s grounds, will also be included. Fine artwork hangs on the walls of the mansion and beautiful gardens surround the house.
Join us for a crisp fall day out viewing the beautiful colors of the season and wonderful country views. Enjoy a delicious lunch, a museum, and house full of fine art
and history — and fun and camaraderie too!
