Private Music Lessons

The JCCNV offers 30-minute private music lessons for kindergarteners to adults.

Before registering a student, contact Joelle to arrange a time slot and find out details about teachers’ schedules.

Monday Dance Party
(does not perform in the recital)
Mondays, beginning January 9
2:30pm–3:30pm

BASE students can learn all the latest dance moves and put them to use!  Every Monday afternoon, join our dance party. After you’ve learned the moves, you’ll have the last 15 minutes to practice them during an in-studio dance party! No pressure of performing, just come have fun!

Cartooning
Mondays, January 23–March 12 (8 weeks)
5pm–6pm

Anyone can be a great cartoonist! The careful placement of lines and shapes is taught in this class, such that students can break down what they see into funny and familiar cartoons. Students learn to draw cartoon people, animals, situations and scenarios using easy-to-learn, effective drawing methods and tricks.

 

Yoga Kids
Wednesdays, January 25–March 14 (8 weeks)
5pm–6pm

A basic experiential yoga class, Yoga Kids teaches children simple yoga practices and invites them to discuss how they feel afterward. It’s a great way for students to learn relaxation, concentration and agility through activity!

 

Mad Science
Fridays, January 27–March 16 (8 weeks)
4:30pm–5:30pm

Experiment-a-mania is a cornucopia of experiments! Children will uncover the vital role that science plays in detective work, examine the science behind popular toys and get a buzz out of the amazing world of insects! Your Mad Scientist will explore earth science and weather phenomena and experiment with some kitchen chemistry! Children will build their own Mad Science Machine and create their very own short animated cartoon!

 

Harry Pottering
Thursdays, April 19–June 7, (8 weeks)
Time: 4:15pm–5:45pm

Learn to make all things wizardry—in clay! The first 6 classes will be creative sessions working in wet clay; the last 2 classes will be glazing. Let your imagination come to life as you fashion your very own Harry Potter figures and scenes with your own hands!

Spanish for Children
Mondays, April 16–June 4 (8 weeks)
5pm–6pm

¡Hola! Designed for school-age children, this class teaches conversational and basic Spanish language using Total Physical Response (TPR)—a “learn by doing” approach. We explore cultural traditions and practices using every day phrases, stories, games and music in our classes.

Fun With Improv!
Wednesdays, April 18–June 6 (8 weeks)
5pm–6pm

Learn the art of dramatic improvisation in this exciting and animated class. Through games and cooperative activities, students learn the fundamentals of performance while gaining confidence and having a great time. This class teaches students to think on their feet and enhances their interpersonal and group skills, which will serve them on and off the stage!
