The Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia is proud to launch a brand new pilot program! Developed to inspire and educate young girls in our community, the JCCNV G.I.R.L.S. Wellness Program combines physical activity, team building, tikkun olam (repairing the world)—through social action, and nutrition and lifestyle education into a fun and exciting after-school activity. The purpose of the program is to encourage life-long healthy habits, positive thinking, and character building through group discussions, hands-on activities and projects, and group exercise classes.

Over the course of the 10-week program, the girls will be inspired, educated, and motivated by community leaders, physicians, athletes, cancer survivors, nutritionists and group exercise instructors. Participants will create journals, take on leadership roles, and work together to carry out a social action piece for our community.

Physical activity sessions include:

  • Circuit Training
  • Cycle-Spin
  • Introduction to Strength Training
  • Kickboxing
  • Outdoor Activities
  • Self-Defense
  • Team Building Activities
  • Yoga
  • Zumba

Group discussions and activities include:

  • Expressing Feelings
  • Media and Image
  • Nutrition
  • Positive Thinking
  • Self-esteem Building
