Before- and After-School Enrichment Program (BASE)

The Before-add After-School Enrichment (BASE) program offers a myriad of opportunities to engage your child each day. The A.M. Care program runs daily as of 7:30am and is only for children who attend Gesher Jewish Day School, Mantua and Wakefield Forest Elementary Schools. The P.M. programs runs from the time of dismissal until 6pm daily.

In addition to quality care, the following activities are available at no additional charge.

• Free swim twice a week in the JCCNV’s 25-meter heated indoor pool
• Quiet homework room with staff assistance
• Daily organized art, cooking and science projects
• Free play on our playground and in our gym
• Organized sports activities
• Game room with board games and card games

Interested in enrichment classes?  Enrollment is available for a variety of classes and lessons.  No extra driving for you; we take care of getting students to and from each activity:

•    Piano, violin, viola, guitar and vocal instruction
•    Dance and sports classes
•    Private and group swim lessons
•    Enrichment classes
•    Private/group tutoring

Transportation Is Available!

Students who attend Wakefield Forest or Mantua elementary schools can ride both the A.M. and P.M. Fairfax County School buses that stop at the JCCNV. Contact the Wakefield Forest or Mantua school office to arrange for your child to ride the bus. In addition, both A.M. and P.M. care is available for Gesher Jewish Day School students who ride the Gesher bus.

The JCCNV provides P.M. transportation from Olde Creek, Little Run, Canterbury Woods, Mosby Woods, Camelot, and Stenwood elementary schools. There is a transportation fee of $65/month (subject to change).

BASE When You Need It!

The BASE program isn’t just in session on school days.  We offer full-day care on school vacation days (7:30am-6pm) and snow days (9am–5pm) and extended hours when school is delayed or dismissed early due to inclement weather. Our Winter and Spring Break programs include field trips, guest performers and themed programming.  Pick up a Vacation Day brochure when you're at the Center, or click here to download the file.

We love our camp shirts and we know you do too! And now, you can add another cool shirt to your collection! Purchase tees for the kids and Mom and Dad too! This new apparel is sure to be a hit!

Proceeds will help the BASE program by purchasing new toys, supplies, equipment and wonderful resources. Additionally, a portion of the funds raised will be donated on behalf of the BASE families to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
