The focus of the Health, Fitness and Aquatics (HFA) Department can be seen in the array of interactive fitness and physical educational programs offered for people of all ages (preschool-age to adult). The department creates opportunities for individuals to get healthy and fit, meet and make new friends, and encourage and support individuals to begin and/or continue their fitness journeys. The HFA department offers a wide-variety of health and wellness opportunities including fitness programs and personal training packages.
Think about this: 70% of Americans begin an exercise program and in less than 3 months, 80% of them quit. More importantly, 80% of all health club memberships are never used. Interestingly, 85% of individuals who have a personal trainer maintain their regimen.
The JCCNV Personal Training program will provide you with the motivation and direction you need to achieve your health and fitness goals! After an initial evaluation to establish your baseline health and fitness level, your program will be designed to meet your individual needs — whether that’s weight loss, recovering from an injury or surgery, cardiovascular fitness, strength training, or just general health and fitness.
Your personal trainer:
The JCCNV Health, Fitness & Aquatics Department offers a variety of personal training packages to meet your needs. From TRX training and small group sessions, to packages for beginner exercises or rehabilitation from an injury — choose the package and the trainer that’s right for you!

Cindy has been a member of the JCCNV community for several years, and recently joined our personal training staff. She has a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Penn State University and was in the United States Marine Corps for 24 years before becoming a certified Personal Trainer through the National Personal Training Institute. She has taught aerobics classes and swimming lessons, and has a wide range of fitness knowledge and certifications — including kettle bells, TRX® and more — making her a very well-rounded trainer. Cindy enjoys working with people and helping them reach their personal fitness goals — she loves it when her clients say “I never thought I could do this but now I can!” In her free time Cindy enjoys cooking (healthy food!), working out, and spending time with her family.

What her clients say!
“I don’t know if it was ‘the luck of the draw,’ ‘providential,’ or whatever, but I feel so fortunate to have Cindy Rosen assigned as my personal trainer at the JCCNV. I am new to the Fitness Center and have not worked with a trainer before so I had a bit of trepidation about what it would be like. Cindy is great! Not only do I feel confident that she is extremely competent and ‘knows her stuff,’ but I know that I can trust her to be aware of my limitations and that she will always find a way to work with me to achieve the desired results. I especially like how she varies our workouts using either my own body weight or the equipment in the fitness room. Her instructions on practical ways I can do things at home give me the assurance I can continue to do workouts on my own. An added benefit to working with Cindy is her friendly personality. It has been pleasure to get to know Cindy as a person!” — Bev Laub, 70
