JCCNV: You belong here!

The JCCNV offers quality programs all year long for families who want to strengthen their connections with each other and with the community.

Special Interest Groups

The Mother’s Circle

Wednesdays, 7:30pm, beginning September 21, 2011

Are you raising Jewish children... but you’re not Jewish? Don’t do it alone! Join the Mother’s Circle to learn about Jewish rituals, ethics and the how-to’s of creating a Jewish home.

Responding to the needs of women who are not Jewish but raising Jewish children, The Mother’s Circle program:

  • Offers free education in Jewish rituals, practices and values;
  • Creates a warm, supportive community of women who have made similar choices for their families;
  • Respects the participant’s choice to retain her own religious identity while providing a Jewish family life for her children.

Classes will meet approximately twice each month for a total of fifteen sessions. For a complete schedule and to register for Mother’s Circle, please contact Laurie Albert at LaurieA@jccnv.org • (703) 537-3064.

Cost: FREE

The Mother’s Circle is a Jewish Outreach Institute program and is funded by The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.

Get Connected with Shalom Baby!

Sunday Morning Play Dates at the “J”

Sunday, December 25 - in conjunction with the community Chanukah Celebration

Calling all Moms and Dads—play dates aren’t just for kids! While the kids play in our wonderful infant/toddler activity room, the grown-ups get to schmooze and meet other families with young children. Come out to the “J” and meet up with old friends and make some new friends, too!  Children ages newborn to 3 years are welcome with their parents!

Play dates are free of charge and are held on Sunday mornings from 10am to noon at the JCCNV.  (See above dates)

If you know someone who is expecting a child, please let us know so we can officially welcome them into the Jewish community and invite them to be part of the Shalom Baby family. Please contact Brittanie Werbel.
