FOR MOMS:

Seder Survival Guide: An Interactive On-Line Discussion

Wednesday, April 2, 2pm
Location: Via phone and internet-connected computer

Starting to wonder what your role in the seder is? Questioning how to best involve your children in the holiday meal?

We invite all mothers of other backgrounds raising Jewish children and anyone who may want to learn more to join The Mothers Circle Seder Survival Guide, a FREE online interactive discussion session. Co-led by Patti Freeman Dorson, a Mothers Circle facilitator based in Indianapolis, IN and Big Tent Judaism/Jewish Outreach Institute program associate, Sarah Sechan, this hour-long session will discuss the "how-tos" of the seder (ritual Passover meal) and ideas on how make the meal a fun and meaningful experience for the family, as well as offer an opportunity to ask a range of questions about Passover (which you can send in beforehand) - whether regarding dietary practice, the Biblical story, or musical traditions at the seder.

The Mothers Circle Mini Sessions

Are you raising Jewish children... but you’re not Jewish? Don’t do it alone! Have fun while learning about Jewish rituals, ethics and the how-to’s of creating a Jewish home. Responding to the needs of women who are not Jewish but raising Jewish children, the Mothers Circle program:

  • Offers free education in Jewish rituals, practices and values.
  • Creates a warm, supportive community of women who have made similar choices for their families.
  • Respects the participant’s choice to retain her own religious identity while providing a Jewish family life for her children.

The Mothers Circle, a program of the Jewish Outreach Institute, is funded by The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.

  • How to tell your Jewish story in a way that matters to your whole family.
  • Balancing the religious concerns of both sets of grandparents.
  • Understanding the various Jewish positions on lifecycle events and holidays to make your own better informed decisions.
  • …and more!
