Mitzvah-a-Month Program
The JCCNV Mitzvah-a-Month Program provides support to those in need in the community. The project began in November 2009, when we received requests from people interested in giving back to the Northern Virginia community. JCCNV volunteers participate in a number of social-action projects, including making casseroles for the homeless, serving meals at nearby shelters, packing food boxes at an emergency food warehouse, helping to prevent hypothermia during the cold winter months, visiting Jewish residents in retirement homes and donating food for Thanksgiving baskets and more.
If you would like to volunteer or want more information about the program, contact Laurie Albert. The more people who join the JCCNV Mitzvah Corps, the more we can give back to our community!
