Thursday, October 19, 1pm: Lunch (provided)
1:45pm: Program

Guest Speaker: Beth Kaplan, Writer/Actress, MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, published in newspapers and magazines

Ms. Kaplan will share an inside look at the life and creative achievements of her great-grandfather Jacob Gordin, the influential playwright and icon of the Yiddish stage. The published book took more than twenty years to grow from an MFA thesis. Ms. Kaplan has spoken about the book in numerous places, including the 92nd Street Y in NYC, the Stella Adler Studio, and Oxford University. She delivered the Wexler Lecture in Jewish History in Washington, D.C. The presentation will include a short dramatic performance.

A classic Jewish deli lunch is included (call Michele if veggie meal is required).
