Senior Fitness

The JCCNV has a lot of fitness programs to offer active retirees ages 55+. Take a look below at the variety of choices available throughout the year!

Group Fitness Classes

Senior Strength Training (SST) formerly SilverSneakers: These chair or standing exercises are designed for functional strength training and improved range of motion for seniors 65+. Beginner/Intermediate-level classes focus on the correct technique, learning proper movements and building endurance. Advanced-level classes move at a quicker pace, performing exercises that build strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.

Beginner/Intermediate Level: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10:45am-11:30am

Advanced Level: Mondays, Wednesday, 9:30am-10:30am; Thursdays, 10:30am-11:30am

Cost: Free for Mishpacha (members)/ $4 Chaverim (nonmembers)

Water Aerobics (H2O): Conducted in the shallow area of the pool, water aerobics are gentle on the joints and good for your heart and muscles.

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: 9:30am-10:30am

Cost: Free for Mishpacha (members)/ Chaverim (nonmembers) must purchase a group class pass*

NEW! Zumba Gold: Move your whole body through a complete series of movements designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Personal Training

Seniors Specialized Fitness Assessment Test and Exercise Rx
Instructors: Certified personal trainers

Designed for adults 65+ that have little knowledge or are new to exercise, this program allows participants to work with a certified fitness coach and includes a fitness evaluation for aerobic capacity, muscle strength and body flexibility and a personalized fitness plan based on individual test results. Fee includes evaluation test, workout plan and three 30-minute sessions with a certified fitness coach.

Cost:  $140 Mishpacha (members)/ $240 Chaverim (nonmembers)
