Group Fitness Classes

Descriptions and Rates

Physical activity helps you look and feel better by improving your skin, posture and muscle tone and helps you to be stronger and have more energy. Experts say just 30 minutes of activity on most days will help you stay healthier. The JCCNV offers a variety of fabulous group exercise classes throughout the week that will help you be your healthiest self! Please see the group fitness class descriptions below and join in on the fun! People of all faiths and fitness levels are welcome.

Many of the Center’s popular group exercise classes are free of charge including: Aqua Zumba, Cardio Dance Fusion, Cardio-Kickboxing, Core Conditioning, Kickboxing, Sculpt & Shape, Senior Strength Training, Tai Chi, Spinning, Water Aerobics, Zumba and Zumba Gold!

Aqua Zumba
Thursdays, 9:30am–10:15am
Utilizing the benefits of water resistance, this class, in the shallow area of the pool, features exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. It’s easy to do, effective and no experience is necessary.

Cardio Dance Fusion
Mondays, 8:30am–9:15am
Come dance away the calories in a class with music from every era and every genre—try salsa, hip hop, and even a little of the pony during this upbeat hour. You’ll sing to every song and realize how much fun a cardio workout can be.

Cardio Kickboxing
Tuesdays, Thursdays, 7:30pm-8:30pm
This is a high energy martial arts and aerobic-style workout. This class finishes with toning and gives low and high impact options.

Core Beginner/Intermediate
New Class Added! Fridays, 8:15am-9am
Fridays, 9:15am–10am

Increase your core strength while giving your back more flexibility. Learn how to engage your core properly to increase strength, control, balance and posture. Please note: Participants must register through the front desk, (703) 323-0880, no more than 48 hours in advance.

Core Advanced
Tuesdays, 8:45am–9:15am
If you’ve been working out for a while and need a change in your core workout and crave intensity, this class is for you. Enhance strength, stamina, and get closer to that athletic body you’ve been working for.

H2O
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 9:30am–10:30am
This water aerobics class is performed in the shallow area of the pool.  It’s a safe resistance for aerobic conditioning, perfect for the joint-sensitive individual.

Jazzercise

Sundays, 9:15am–10:15am; Mondays, 8:15am–9:15am (beginning March 1), 9:30am–10:30am, 7pm–8pm; Tuesdays 9:30am–10:30am, 7pm–8pm; Wednesdays, 8:15am–9:15am (beginning March 1), 9:30am–10:30am, 7pm–8pm; Thursdays, 9:30am–10:30am, 7pm–8pm; Fridays, 8:15am-9:15am (beginning March 1) 9:30am–10:30am

Combines cardio, strength and stretch moves for a total body workout. All ages, fitness levels and sizes welcome. Free classes are available on Mondays and Wednesdays to new members for one year.

Kickboxing
Tuesdays, 7:30am–8:45am
A high-intensity interval aerobic exercise program that includes punching and kicking using mitts and shields.

Krav Maga
Tuesdays, 7:15pm–8:15pm
This Israeli Defense class is a contact combat workout including self-defense, fitness and fighting concepts in a fun atmosphere.

Sculpt & Shape
Mondays, Wednesdays, 9:30am–10:15am
Class involves hand-weights, dyna-bands and exercise bars used to provide upper and lower body contouring and shaping.

Senior Strength Training (Beg.)
Mondays, Wednesdays, 10:45am–11:30am
Chair or standing exercises designed for functional strength training for adults 65+.

Senior Strength Training (Adv.)
Mondays, Wednesdays, 9:30am–10:30am; Thursdays, 10:30am–11:30am
Class involves standing cardio exercises, chair or standing functional strength training and flexibility for adults 65+.

Cycle-Spin
Sundays, 8:30am–9:30am; Mondays, 6:45am–7:30am; Wednesdays 7:15am–8am, 9:30am–10:15am; Fridays 6:45am–7:30am, 9:30am–10:30am
Build endurance and increase cardiovascular fitness as your instructor takes you on a ride on stationary bicycles. Please note: Participants must register through the front desk, (703) 323-0880, no more than 48 hours in advance.

Tai Chi
Tuesdays, 10am–10:30am (Beginner); 10:45am–11:30am (Advanced)
This is a Chinese martial art primarily practiced for its health benefits, including a means for dealing with tension and stress. Tai chi emphasizes complete relaxation, and is essentially a form of meditation.

Yoga
Mondays, 7:15pm–8:30pm
Physical exercises, meditations and breathing designed to integrate the mind, body, and spirit.

Zumba
Thursdays, 9:30am–10:15am
Class features exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats.  It’s easy to do, effective and no dance experience necessary.

Zumba Gold
Tuesdays, 9:30am–10:30am
Latin music with modified moves and pace to suit the needs of the active older participant and those just starting their fitness journey.
