Enjoy a walking tour with short historical talk at the National Press Club. This is a wonderful opportunity to walk through the “halls of journalistic history.” The NPC has been a gathering place for thousands of journalists, newsmakers and dignitaries since 1908 and thus it’s the oldest professional and social media organization in the US. Historic front pages are on display in an area where our group picture will be taken. Visitors may wander through the National Press Club Awards Corridor and visit the Truman Lounge, where you’ll see the famous piano which then Vice President Harry S. Truman played with young starlet Lauren Bacall perched above him. The tour also includes visiting the ballroom where luncheons have been held since 1932 and you will view an original Norman Rockwell oil painting. After the tour we will partake of a delicious buffet luncheon and hear a special presentation. This is a special group only opportunity – sign up early as there will be a limited # of spaces.
Cost: $32M JCCNV/$37C (includes bus, tour and buffet luncheon – all taxes, tips and iced tea included)
