Wish List
The items on the list below have been identified by the Special Needs Department as tools that the staff can utilize to introduce new and exciting programming to children of all ages, as well as give new life to existing programs.
We hope that you’ll consider donating one or more items on the list so that the JCCNV Special Needs Program will be able to continue to provide quality programming to children, teenagers and young adults with special needs.
For your convenience, we have provided links to the retailer's websites in case you'd like to make the purchase directly. Otherwise, you may also go to the online donations area of our site to make a donation (you may specify if it's for a particular item, or discretionary. Please note that it is for the Special Needs Program).
Your donation to the JCCNV Special Needs Department can help individuals and/or the entire program. You may specify how you’d like the funds designated and suggested allocations are below.
| $20 | will purchase social skills cards and games for the social skills classes |
| $50 | will purchase additional supplies for the Special Needs Department |
| $50 | will cover snacks for the weekly social skills classes |
| $100 | will feed a Social Club group at a monthly get together |
| $125 | will cover a special activity at a Social Club monthly get together, such as painting pottery, tie-dye, guest speakers, bowling, etc. |
| $200 | will provide a scholarship for the Going Places! Teens social club for teens with Asperger’s Syndrome and similar disorders |
| $200 | will provide a scholarship for the Going Places! Adults social club for adults (30+ years old) with Asperger’s Syndrome and similar disorders |
| $225 | will cover the cost of the DJ for our Going Places! Young Adults social club annual dance |
| $235 | will provide a scholarship for the Going Places! Young Adult (18-29 years old) social club for young adults with Asperger’s Syndrome and similar disorders |
| $275 | will cover the entrance fees to a specialty museum for a social club outing |
| $325 | will cover the cost of a shadow for a special needs child to participate in the BASE school-age program for one month |
| $500 | will cover the cost of transportation to go apple picking in the Shenandoah Valley (a social club event) |
| $650 | will cover the cost of a shadow for a special needs child to participate in one session of the JCCNV’s summer camp |
| $1,200 | will cover a scholarship for one child to attend one session of JCCNV’s Camp Shalom for children with Asperger’s Syndrome and related disorders |
