*Advanced Ballet/Pointe Technique (if wearing pointe shoes, you must also participate in ballet 6)
Sundays, 3pm–4:30pm

Students are referred to pointe class when the teacher has determined that their bodies are strong enough and they have developed the proper discipline and work ethic. Students in this class must also be enrolled in Ballet 6 or higher. Solid-colored leotards and pink tights should be worn to class. Students will need pointe shoes and regular ballet slippers for this class.

Pointe Classes

*Pre-Point/Pointe (you must also be in at least one other ballet class)
Thursdays, 6:30pm–8pm

To dance en pointe is the ambition of every young ballet student. First, a standard of strength and technique must be achieved to be able to reach that goal safely and without detrimental effect to a growing body. Students practice barre and center floor exercises in ballet slippers until the teacher feels they are ready to begin en pointe. Students in this class must also be in Ballet 5 or higher. Solid-colored leotards and pink tights should be worn to class.

Acrobatics Classes

Tumbling Skills
Ages 6–10       

Thursdays, 4:30pm–6pm

Tumbling introduces students to basic acrobatic skills (forward rolls and bridges) while developing strength and flexibility. As students progress, they work toward learning more difficult tricks like back walkovers and handsprings. Leotards with footless tights (or no tights) must be worn.

Theater Dance
Ages 8–18

Thursdays, 6pm–7pm

This is a beginning-level dance class that helps prepare dancers for the stage. They learn basic jazz dance technique with a focus on musical theater. Watch out Broadway, here we come!

Tap Dance

Tap is a rhythmic and percussive dance form done in special shoes that augment the dance movement with a variety of sounds. Tap develops the student’s timing and rhythm and can enhance the study of other dance forms. Tap shoes and leotards must be worn to allow the instructor to properly observe body alignment and form.

Hip-Hop

Dance Party (This class does not perform in the recital.)
Mondays, 2:30pm–3:30pm (classes conclude on May 7)

BASE students can learn all the latest dance moves and put them into action!  Every Monday afternoon, join our dance party. You will learn new dance moves and have the last 15 minutes to practice them at an in-studio dance party! Learn to dance without the pressure of performing, and just have fun.

Fitness for Dancers

Technique and Flexibility
Fridays, 4:30pm–6pm 

An advanced-level class offered as a way to further develop advanced-level dance technique and flexibility. Although this is a ballet-focused class, it contains elements of fitness, modern dance and jazz to encourage the development of technique and to help build strength and vocabulary. The first 30 minutes of each class will be focused on core development. This class does not have a recital dance so performance fees do not apply.

Israeli Dance
Ages 13+

Tuesdays, 8:30pm

These are both traditional folk dances and modern creations performed to Israeli music. Be the only one at the next Bar/Bat Mitzvah to really know how to dance!

Cost: $6M/ $7C/ $5 students

JCCNV Dance Company (Ongoing)

Senior (Ages 13+)
Junior (Ages 9-12)

10-month program (September–May)

An audition, held in August of each year, is required in order to participate in this special dance group. Contact Alicia Ronquillo for details. All members must take ballet, technique and flexibility and attend company rehearsals. Price includes all performance fees, three mandatory classes and up to two additional classes at no additional charge.

Students accepted into this program save up to 45% off standard tuition fees. Some scholarships are available. If cost is an issue, please inquire into our payment options.
