Inspired and created by Camp Achva’s Omanoot campers to showcase their artistic endeavors. Omanoot, the Hebrew word for art, is a specialty camp for rising third through sixth graders.

In this show, each member followed their own “fancy”, ranging from contemporary takes on themes from myths and literature to more abstract works, combining fiber with metal, enamel, and beads.

- Picture It – A Birthright Israel Experience in Photos

Birthright Israel participants displayed their experience through photos taken on their journey through Israel. Student photographers who participated in Lloyd Wolf’s class, “Eyes Wide Open & Click” also exhibited their work. On display, Sandy Wagner returned with her vibrant and creative fused glass wearable art.

Neta Aharonovitch describes her work as “Jewish spirituality meets a contemporary Israeli landscape.” Neta’s technique weaves together pieces of textile and decorative beads, with holy prayers to create mixed-media collages.

Joann Wells Greenbaum and David Greenbaum a husband and wife team of artists with shared artistic visions. Joann is a painter ceramicist “whose current body of work reflects her whimsical approach to traditional subjects. With bright colors and fluid lines, Joann expresses her vivid imagination with humor and enchantment.” David Greenbaum has honed his skills as a potter over many years. His pottery today reflects the unique designs and classic forms of his original style. These pots radiate tranquility and harmony and reflect his joy of working with clay.
- Jewish Washington: Scrapbook of an American Community

The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington’s award-winning exhibition at the JCCNV included archival photographs and historic documentation of local Jewish life. Its narrative begins in 1795 with Washington’s first Jewish resident, and continues through current time to celebrate the region’s Jewish community of more than 215,000 members.

Janet Boltax is a talented painter who uses bold color and strong strokes to create her portraits. Along with her painting of people, she is enthralled with capturing the faces from a different order. Diane Leshin designs handbags using innovative crochet techniques and a multitude of vibrant fibers, textures and colors.

Mark Isaacs, a local Virginia artist, who has tropical connections, is best known for his colorful seascapes and landscapes. His vibrant palette and painting style is rooted in the Impressionists and his life tentacles reach to the Caribbean, especially the US Virgin Islands.

Ellyn Weiss is a mixed-media painter and print maker whose work speaks to the heart. Her densely layered oil-bar paintings begin with words, and are guided by the artist’s intuition. Robin Lutsky’s handcrafted mixed-metal creations are innovative and contemporary. She works in silver and gold.

Mordechai Rosenstein, Emes Editions Part II return with original one-of-a-kind Hebrew Calligraphic works that dance across the paper. Susan Fischer Weis is a multitalented artist who designs Judaica. We will be introducing “Yontifications,” a jewelry line to put you in the festive mood.

Ronni Jolles primary medium is paper that is cut, torn and layered. With the addition of pastels and fabrics, Ronnie creates her special one-of-a-kind images. Sharon Rosenblatt manipulates fibers and found objects to create unusual surfaces for her quilts. Nancy Gardner and Burton Isenstein work as a tea to create wonderful ceramic piece
