Imagine Israel Podcast

Federation’s Imagine Israel Podcast directly connects you to a modern, relatable Israel in real-time through stories from prominent Israeli innovators addressing social issues in Israel. With every episode, hear stories from innovative Israeli influencers leading social change in Israel. Robbie Gringras, Creative Director of Makom, hosts Federation’s Imagine Israel Podcast,  facilitating thought-provoking dialogues with innovative Israelis to learn how their life, work and passions intersect in a unique way to make a noticeable impact on Israeli society.

Subject matter:

Topics range from disability inclusion, shared Jewish-Arab society, pluralism, LGBTQ community and more.

Podcast guests:

The podcast will feature a breadth of thought-leaders from Israel, working in a wide variety of fields including filmmakers, NGO directors and CEOs, humanitarian aid workers and others.

Get to Know a New Israeli Non-Profit Organization Each Month!
Each month, we will feature a cool and not-so-familiar Israeli nongovernmental organization (NGO) so you can get to know some of the amazing things Israelis do that you might not have heard about! This month, get to know: Yad L'isha (Giving Hand to Women), Yad L'isha is a legal aid center and hotline providing women imprisoned in hopeless marriages with free legal representation they need to receive a Jewish divorce.


 Schmooze, Brews, and Israeli News

Mondays (weekly), 10am-11am
Meet with Na’ama each week for a cup of coffee or tea, cookies, and an open conversation about the latest news in Israel.

Everyone is welcome — no need to sign up — just come!


Shakshuka Club
Are you tired of book, wine, and poetry clubs? Do you want to bring some spice into your home? Let’s have a fun evening together cooking “shakshuka,” an Israeli delicacy, while talking and learning about Israel!

A few details:
- The gatherings are designed for groups of 12–18 people. Hosts extend the invitations to their friends, family, co-workers, etc.
- The evening is for adults of all ages
- The meal ingredients will be provided by the J

Wednesdays (weekly), 8:30am – 9:30am
Facilitated by Na'ama Gold, Community Shlicha
Join Na’ama each week for conversational Hebrew. You will learn and practice Hebrew in a fun and interactive way while learning more about Israel! No previous knowledge of Hebrew required.
Fee: Free (we ask that you try to attend regularly)

Israeli Dance
Ages: 13+
Tuesdays (ongoing), 7:45pm–9:45pm
Instructor: Ethan Halpern
This drop-in cultural dance program incorporates Jewish and Israeli culture through choreographed dances set to modern music by Israeli artists. The dances students learn are recognized in most programs internationally. No experience is required. Ethan Halpern has been offering this popular Israeli Dance program for 20 years at the J. Preregistration not required. See you on the dance floor!
Fee: $10/ $6 member/ $5 student. Pay instructor directly.
