Twinkle Toes Tap

Instructor: Niya Kight
Mondays, September 11 – May 14 (29 weeks)
(No class Oct. 9, Dec. 18, Dec. 25, Jan 1, Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 26)

Ages: 5–7
This energetic and exciting class is designed to provide young dancers an introduction into the fundamentals of tap dance.  Early exposure to the rhythms and unique mind-to-foot connection that is associated with tap dance will allow the student to progress and excel in the art as they move through life.  Dancers should wear a leotard or jazz pants, or leggings with a solid colored t-shirt, tap shoes (lace-up preferred). Hair should be pulled back away from the face in a neat ponytail or braid.
Annual Fee: $550/ $466 member
Two Payments of $275/$233 member - due September 8 and February 8

Tween Tap

Instructor: Niya Kight

Ages: 8-12
Tappers in this class will learn tap-rhythm and timing.  Proper terminology and musicality is stressed in this more advanced class.  The class will consist of warm-up, center work, and across the floor training.  Tap steps such as shuffles, flaps, time steps, buffalo, drawbacks, and more will be introduced and then combined to learn dance routines to all types of music. Dancers should wear a leotard or jazz pants, or leggings with a solid colored t-shirt, tap shoes (lace-up preferred).  Hair should be pulled back away from the face in a neat ponytail or braid.
Annual Fee: $550/ $466 member

Tap Technique

Age: Placement by instructor recommendation
In this technique focused class, tappers will learn more tap-rhythms, sounds, and combinations.  The class will progress onto riffs, pullbacks, time steps, complex turns, and extensive warm-ups.  Students will be challenged to demonstrate the ability to build speed while keeping the clarity of their taps clean.  Add all of this to more complicated combinations and intricate dance routines, and this becomes a fun and stimulating class. This class also accepts adult tap students who are looking for a higher level challenge.
Annual Fee: $660/ $580 member

Basic Ballet

Wednesday, September 6- May 23 (31 weeks)
(No class Sept. 20, Oct. 4, Oct. 11, Nov. 22, Dec. 20, Dec. 27, March 28)

Age: 5-6
Dress Code: Pink leotard, pink pull-on skirt (optional), pink tights, pink full-soled leather ballet shoes, hair pulled back away from the face in a neat bun (preferred), ponytail, braid, or headband.
This beginning ballet class will teach dancers the fundamentals of ballet and basic technique.  They will learn ballet vocabulary and its associated movement. Form, discipline and focus will be emphasized in this class as well as performance skills and stage presence.
Annual Fee: $590/ $496 member

Releve Ballet

Age: 7 +
Dress Code: Black leotard, black pull-on skirt (optional), pink tights, pink full-soled leather ballet shoes, hair pulled back away from the face in a neat bun (preferred), ponytail, braid, or headband.
This is an intermediate level ballet class which will build on the dancer’s ballet foundation and technical skills. Barre protocol and exercises will be introduced as well as combinations and choreography.

Junior Jazz

Ages: 5-6
Dress Code: Students should wear tan jazz shoes, jazz pants, leotard or solid colored t-shirt. Hair should be pulled away from the face in a neat ponytail or braid.
This beginning jazz class will introduce the dancer to the fundamentals of jazz. Basic jazz positions and steps such as parallel positions and jazz walks will be integrated into the dancer’s jazz vocabulary and definition of movements.
Annual Fee: $570/ $480 member

Pivotal Jazz

Ages: 7+  
Dress Code: Students should wear tan jazz shoes, jazz pants, leotard or solid colored t-shirt. Hair should be pulled away from the face in a neat ponytail or braid.
As jazz is a more expressive form of dance than ballet, the dancers in this intermediate level class will learn to use more energetic movements when performing jazz steps. Dancers will focus on executing higher levels of jazz moves such as pivot turns, jazz squares, and side leaps.
Annual Fee: $570/ $480 member
