Fall into the Holidays

All ages welcome!
Get a jump start on the fall holidays, all in one place and at one time! From Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to Sukkot and Simchat Torah — we’ll do it all. Learn about each holiday through exciting hands-on experiences; music; make your own sukkah; holiday cards; shofar; pop-up PJ stories; arts & crafts; photo ops and more! Please register by September 6.
Fee: $9 per child/ $8 member
 (adults are free, but must be accompanied by a child);

Community Apple Picking
Sunday, September 17, 1pm–3pm
Location: Stribling Orchard
11587 Poverty Hollow Lane, Markham
Get ready for school and Rosh Hashanah with an afternoon of picking delicious apples to go with your honey! Bring a picnic and enjoy breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains while learning about the Jewish New Year. Enjoy PJ Library® stories and making fun apple crafts, then go out and pick apples at this 8th generation orchard. Do a mitzvah (good deed) and donate a portion of your picked apples to Food for Others, a local food pantry in Fairfax. Remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a snack. Please register by September 13.
Fee:  Program and entrance to orchard free. You pay for your own apples.

Baby2Tot Fest

Get ready for an exciting event featuring all things babies and toddlers! From vendors and parenting workshops to LIVE entertainment and interactive activities provided by the J’s Growing Jewish Families program. The Baby2Tot Fest is an event all new or expecting parents will want to attend! Visit to learn more.

This is event is in partnership with The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the United Jewish Endowment Fund; the J’s Growing Jewish Family program; and in collaboration with area synagogues and organizations.

2nd Annual Northern Virginia Great Big Challah Bake

An empowering evening for girls and women and of all ages who are coming together to make challah, sing, and dance. Celebrate Jewish Book Month!
Character Breakfast!
Sunday, November 5, 9:30am–11am
Join one of your favorite storybook characters (TBA) as you feast on breakfast treats with your family! Enjoy a morning filled with fun, crafts, and stories. There will also be plenty of photo ops to remember this special day at the J — bring your camera! Be sure to register quickly as this program is usually a sell-out!
