Beginner Level
Ages: 5–9
Mondays, 4pm–4:30pm
Designed for school-age children with beginner or no swim skills. Students are introduced to pool safety, bubble blowing, face submersion, floating, kicking, and paddling. After the first week of practice, the J reserves the right to make all necessary changes in order to ensure swimmers are in the appropriate ability level.

After-Camp Intermediate Level

Designed for school-age children that are able to swim at least half to one length of the pool. Students increase proficiency in freestyle and backstroke. New skills include breaststroke and butterfly. After the first week of practice, the J reserves the right to make all necessary changes in order to ensure swimmers are in the appropriate ability level.

Mini Waves Swim Team

Mini Waves Swim Team is a noncompetitive team that helps children ages 5–12 continue improving their strokes and endurance, as well as prepare for future involvement with the Waves competitive swim team. Practices are designed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level swimmers who practice once or twice per week for 45 minutes. Beginner swimmers must be able to swim backstroke or freestyle one length of the pool (25 meters). Intermediate swimmers must be able to swim 50 meters using either freestyle or backstroke. Advanced swimmers should be able to swim 50 meters nonstop and be able to swim freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, or butterfly.

Level I Beginner
Prerequisite: Child must be able to backstroke or freestyle one length of the pool.
Level I students work to improve basic swimming skills.

Level II Intermediate
Prerequisite: Child must be able to swim 50 meters using either freestyle or backstroke.
Nonstop practices refine students’ strokes and they begin to learn breaststroke and butterfly.

Level III Advanced
Prerequisites: Students should be able to swim 50 meters nonstop, and be able to swim freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
